Cleaning and disassembling the Grease Gun

A pneumaticgrease gun is a widely used tool that finds applications in automobile shops, factories and everywhere else where heavy machinery is used. The grease gun is required for keeping the moving parts running smoothly. The seal in the cartridge barrel and the valve plug of the pneumatic grease gun should be replaced every now and then to ensure that grease flows out smoothly and evenly at the desired pressure.
Here are the steps to cleaning and disassembling the grease gun.
  •  You may use a wrench to disconnect the air pipe and remove the rotary coupling.
  • The rotary coupling of the grease gun is a nut present below the pressure gauge.
  •  You may be required to turn this in the anticlockwise direction.
  •  Next remove the pin from the trigger of the grease gun using a ball peen hammer.
  • Pull out the trigger lever and clean this part using a solvent.
  • Using tweezers you can remove the rubber ring seal present in the piston bore of the grease gun.
